Trial Database
To facilitate the qualitative research processes of our researchers at Boğaziçi University, the domestic qualitative data analysis software Academetrica Quali has been made available for trial access until January 2027.
What is Academetrica Quali?
Academetrica Quali is a comprehensive qualitative data analysis software that enables the analysis of interviews, focus group discussions, observation notes, documents and other textual data. With Quali's three different artificial intelligence modules, your research data never leaves your computer. This way, you can benefit from the most modern tools in compliance with Ethics Committee permissions.
Where Can I Download the Software?
The Academetrica Quali desktop application can be downloaded for Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems from www.academetrica.com. After the installation is complete, a user account must be created and you must log in to the system. Then, you need to activate your institutional account by using your university e-mail within the application. For detailed instructions, you can review the attached guide or watch the video at the link.

In order to use the Academetrica database, which our library has made available for trial access, you need to download the relevant desktop application. During the installation of the application, you may encounter a protection warning due to your operating system's standard security policies (e.g. Windows SmartScreen).
This application has been tested by our library, is completely reliable and does not pose any risk to your device. To complete the installation without any problems, please follow the steps below:
On the blue warning screen that appears when you run the installation file, click on "More info".
Then, click the "Run anyway" button that appears in the lower right corner of the screen, and you can safely continue with the installation.

The Publications of the Hague Academy Online legal database, presented by Brill, has been opened for trial access until October 21, 2026.
Publications of the Hague Academy Online provides electronic access to over 100 years of academic accumulation in international law. The collection includes comprehensive academic publications on public and private international law, international relations, and current legal issues.

DeepL Pro Trial Access Is Now Open
The translation and writing platform DeepL Pro has been opened for trial access to members of our university until October 31, 2026.
Founded in 2017 in Cologne, Germany, DeepL is a language platform that translates into more than 120 languages, including Turkish. Today it is used by over 200,000 organizations worldwide, including universities, global companies, and law firms. DeepL Pro supports many stages of research and teaching — from reading foreign-language sources to preparing articles and presentations, and from English academic writing to international meetings.
1. Reading Foreign-Language Sources: DeepL Translate
- Upload articles, reports, and book chapters as PDF or Word files and translate them while preserving the page layout. (2 min) Training video
- Using the browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox), translate web pages and database abstracts without leaving the page. (3 min) Training video
- For MacBook users, instead of the Safari browser extension, the DeepL for Mac desktop app allows you to translate text from the Safari extension with the shortcut ⌘+C+C, and text you have written yourself with the shortcut ⌘+⇧+C+C, inserting the translation directly into the text.

3. In International Meetings and Collaborations: DeepL Voice
- In Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet meetings, each participant speaks in their own language while others follow the conversation with live subtitles or voice translation in their own language.
- At conferences and face-to-face meetings during visiting researcher stays, instant translation can be done via phone or computer.
- Turkish is supported as a spoken, subtitle, and voice translation language.

Access from Anywhere
You can use DeepL Pro via web browser, Windows and Mac desktop applications, iOS and Android mobile applications, browser extensions, and Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook add-ins.
Texts translated with DeepL Pro are not permanently stored on DeepL servers and are not used to train AI models. For this reason, it can be used safely for your unpublished articles, projects, and theses. DeepL holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications and is GDPR-compliant.
Machine translation and AI-assisted writing tools should be used as auxiliary tools in academic texts. It is recommended that translations and edits — especially with regard to field terminology — be reviewed and used in accordance with academic integrity rules.
