Detailed Rules
Renewing the Borrowing Period
The borrowing period of a material can be renewed online twice, provided it has not been requested (reserved) by someone else.
Due dates cannot be renewed by phone.
The renewal process must be completed before the material's due date expires. Faculty members can renew materials starting 21 days before the due date, while other users can renew starting 7 days before the due date. It is the user's responsibility to renew the borrowing period.
Each user must handle the renewal of materials they bring to the library in person at the circulation desk.
Overdue Fines
An overdue fine is applied to materials not returned to the library by their due date. For reserve materials loaned for two hours, an overdue fine is applied for every hour they are late. Overdue fines are charged only for the days the library is open. Fines are not charged for public holidays and other days the library is closed.
Readers with overdue books or unpaid fines cannot borrow new books.
Overdue fines cannot be canceled. Neither the circulation desk staff nor other library personnel have the authority to cancel or postpone overdue fines.
The following account can be used for overdue fine payments.

Users with special membership status can access e-resources only from within the library.

User Responsibilities
- The user is fully responsible for the borrowed materials.
- BOUN ID cards and membership cards cannot be used by anyone other than the cardholder for library entrances or transactions.
- The library cannot be held responsible if it fails to send due date email reminders due to technical or other reasons. It is the user's responsibility to return borrowed materials on time.
- The user is responsible for any loss or damage to borrowed materials.
- Users must provide a valid email address to the library. The library is not responsible for undelivered emails.
- The failure of an overdue notice to reach the user for any reason is not a valid excuse for not paying the overdue fine.
- Users will lose their borrowing privileges if borrowed materials are not returned on time, library materials are damaged, the cost of lost or damaged materials is not paid, or other library rules are violated. A user regains their borrowing privileges once they cover the damages and resolve the issues they caused.
