2026 Springer Nature Open Access Agreement is Active!
The quota for 2026 is 3,090 units and will open on January 1, 2026. Since the article acceptance date is taken into account, authors who will submit new articles will be more likely to benefit from the quota if they choose to submit them towards the end of the year (considering that the acceptance process will take a few months). APC support will not be given to articles accepted after this moment and between December 31, 2025, as the system will be closed.*
2026 TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM – Springer Nature Open Access Agreement has been activated!
The agreement, under which researchers can publish open access 'free of charge' in Springer Hybrid Journals, became active again as of January 1, 2026.
Under the agreement in question, there is an annual open access article publishing quota (country quota) and the researcher must be the corresponding author of the article.
Paper types covered by the agreement: Original Paper, Review Paper, Brief Communication, Continuing Education
In WoS - SCI/SSCI/AHCI databases, there must be hybrid journals that fall into Q1 and Q2 according to the Journal Impact Factor (JIF).
*Gold Journals and Nature group journals are not included in the agreement.
It is important that you apply for the agreements with your e-mail address with bogazici.edu.tr extension.

To benefit from this agreement, at least one of the authors must be actively working as a faculty member at a university in Türkiye. This author must be a "Co-Author". Students cannot benefit from this right!

Our agreement, which allows your researchers to publish open access papers 'free of charge' in Springer Hybrid Journals, has been reactivated for its 3rd term as of January 1, 2026.
The first webinar of the year will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Updates regarding journal scope, acceptance criteria, and current quota information will be shared.
