The library is open 24/7, but the staff hours may vary according to the academic calendar.
Our library is located in the north campus of Boğaziçi University as the central library. It is open to researchers.
Various membership types allow non-Boğaziçi University faculty members, teaching staff, master's and doctoral students, and Boğaziçi University graduates to use the library.
You can get help with the use of the library by applying to the user services office or bank or by calling by phone.
On the library website, submission is made by entering “name, surname”, “library number (barcode)” from the “my library account” menu and the pin digit is blank. The library password is created by typing “pin” into the opened boxes.
By logging in from the My library account menu, “forgot your pin?” we are clicking on the tab. we submit by filling in the ”name, surname“ and "library number (barcode) fields. We are sending a new library password via the link received to our email address.
After logging into our library account, we find the book we requested from the “new search” tab. After determining the book, we perform the request by clicking on the “request” button located in the upper-left corner and then on the “request selected item” button.
Faculty members can request 10 books at a time, research assistants, doctoral and master's and undergraduate students can request 5 books at a time.
The requested book is kept on the "hold" shelf in front of the lending desk for 3 days. The borrowing process is completed by finding the book on the shelf, from the desks or from the self-checkout machine.
Faculty members can borrow a total of 30 books until the end of the semester. Masters and doctoral students can borrow a total of 20 books for 21 days, and undergraduate students can borrow a total of 10 books for 21 days.
You can return the book you borrowed from the circulation desks or the self-checkout machine.
Yes, you can send books by cargo, but the books are considered returned the day they arrive at the library, and you are responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during cargo.
After logging in from the My library account menu, you can see all the borrowed books and return dates from the ‘items currently check out’ button on the left side. By selecting the books, you can extend their duration by using the ‘renew selected item’ or ‘renew all’ buttons.
When a book borrowed by another user is returned by requesting it, it is kept on the ‘hold’ shelf for 3 days on behalf of the requesting user and the user is notified by e-mail.
When you log in to your library account, the ‘my reading history’ button in your user record will list all books that have been borrowed and returned in the past.
For books or articles that are not available in our library, the ILL form in the user transactions menu is filled in to initiate the process of obtaining them from other libraries. The ILL system can be used by faculty members, teaching staff, staff, master's and doctoral students.
Since the borrowed book is the responsibility of the user, in case of loss, it is necessary to contact the library and obtain information on how compensation will be provided.
Since books that have passed their return date cannot be extended on the system, the book must be returned to the library. If the user is out of town, it can be sent by cargo.
You can pay the late payment penalty in cash to the circulation desks where you returned the book, or by making a transfer-EFT to the IBAN address provided in the user transactions menu. After making the transfer-EFT, the receipt must be sent to circ@bogazici.edu.tr e-mail address.
There are desktop computers in the library that are available for use by all our users.
Our library has a photocopy center where you can photocopy and scan documents. We also have a device that you can use for limited scanning tasks.
Boğaziçi University graduates are natural members of our library and have the right to enter the library whenever they want with their graduate cards. In order to borrow books, they can get the right to borrow 4 books by paying annual dues.
If there is no error in THIS e-mail address and password, you can review the eduroam page or get internal support with the number '4716' from our university software support unit.The address is located on the 2nd floor of the North Campus Administrative Building.

If you are a member of Boğaziçi University bogazici.edu.tr you can benefit from this service with OpenAthens, which is an off-campus access with your extended mail addresses and mail password.
You can select the topic and format you want to research by clicking on the ‘Filter by Topics’ option under the electronic resources tab on the homepage.
In order for an account to be opened in your name in the Turnitin and iThenticate databases; it is required that you have submitted your doctoral dissertation and are teaching at our school. Our students can upload their homework and thesis plagiarisms to the classes that our relevant teachers have opened on their own accounts and shared their passwords with our students.
The Grammarly education account is opened to senior undergraduate students, graduate students and teaching staff.

If the journal is available in the databases we subscribe to, you can access it electronically.
The “Rare books request form” or “Historical archive request form” found in the forms section on the library website must be completed completely. You can use it at the “Rare Books Desk" at the classification office of the Directorate of Rare Books and Historical Archives on the date you specify on the form.
The original copies of the archive materials that have been digitized and put into open access after the digitization studies have been completed are not issued to the researcher. To the digital collection http://digitalarchive.boun.edu.tr / can be reached from the address.
Rare books and historical archive materials are not loaned out of the library under any circumstances.
A photocopy of the archive material cannot be made. Within the rules, scanning can be done with the appropriate device or a photo can be taken without flash.
Copy requests are taken into consideration for works whose protection periods specified in the relevant law have expired. Requests; the purpose of use of the copy and the physical condition of the work (wear and tear, etc.) are evaluated according to whether it is suitable.
Friday Monday- Friday this section is open from 09:30 to 16:30. Dec. Materials are not given after 16:00. At the end of the period, the work must be delivered to the librarian in charge. Saturday Sundays and Sundays materials are not given.
