Historical Archive Terms of Use *

TERMS OF USE OF HISTORICAL ARCHIVE MATERIAL
1.	From the historical archives, faculty members, B.U. graduate and undergraduate students (undergraduate students need a written application from their departments) and members who can borrow books can benefit.
2.	The historical archive request form must be completed in full and the date on which the material will be used must be specified.
3.	A maximum of 3 materials are given to each user at a time.
4.	Historical archives can only be used at the “User Desk" in the classification office of the Directorate of Rare Artifacts and Historical Archives Branch. This department has physical conditions that can serve 2 researchers at the same time.
5.	Friday Saturday Monday Sunday 09:30- 16:30 This section is open from 09:30 to 16:30, Saturday and Sunday materials are not given. Dec.16:30 This section is open from Monday to Friday. Materials are not given after 16:00. At the end of the period, the work must be delivered to the librarian in charge.
6.	No drinks, including water, may be kept on the user's table.
7.	The researcher should not leave the side of the material. Even if it is for a short period of time, he has to hand over the archive material to the officer before leaving the hall.
8.	If required by the archive material, it is mandatory to wear gloves in order to benefit from the work. Cotton or latex gloves can be obtained from the attendant.
9.	Researchers cannot use pencils other than pencils during their studies. Pages cannot be turned with wet fingers or materials such as erasers, pencils. The pages should be turned gently, the volumes should not be forced.
10.	Materials are given in exchange for signatures, damage control is performed by the librarian when the materials are returned after the end of use.
11.	Historical archive materials are not loaned out of the library under any circumstances.
12.	A photocopy of the archive material cannot be made.
13.	Within the rules, scanning can be done with the appropriate portable device or a photo can be taken without flash.
14.	In case of a copy request; the purpose of use of the copy and the physical condition of the work (wear and tear, etc.), is decided based on whether it is suitable or not.
15.	Legal action is taken against users who do not comply with the rules.
