SCOAP³-TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Collaboration

Since 2014, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM has been among the member institutions paying the country's contribution to the SCOAP³ (Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics) consortium, which aims to make high-energy physics (HEP) research available to the world through an open-access publishing model. This contribution not only makes high-energy physics articles from Turkey publicly accessible but also contributes to the national ecosystem through the Aperta Turkey Open Archive.

SCOAP³ Books: A New Era in Open Access

SCOAP³'s "SCOAP³ for Books" initiative, launched in 2019, is an innovative project to open access leading books and monographs in particle physics and related fields. During the pilot period spanning 2021–2022, more than 90 books were made open access, resulting in a 13-fold increase in downloads. Following this success, a permanent program was launched to publish 10–15 new books open access annually, starting in 2023.
